Everybody thought that once the Taliban were out, they could just stick it on the back burner and concentrate on other things. In the meantime, it burned money at a fantastic rate and made a lot of scum sucking war profiteers rich beyond their wildest dreams.

There is some blame to be leveled, and that's at the people on the ground thee, who should have been working to process people for the last six months, getting the ones who wanted to leave out of that country. They always drag their feet pm that, exhibit A:: Dith Pran

Dumdum set the date and conditions for this mess. The Taliban leaders obviously knew they were dealing with an idiot who'd believe just about anything and now Biden has a huge mess dumped in his lap.
