I’ve stopped trying to make sense of it. All that does is piss me off. I’m now just allowing myself to figure out how I feel. It’s a strange place to be. I’m still not sure but I do feel very disappointed in my follow Americans. The ones who always fell into the ugly American category when I lived in other countries. The ones who I’ve experienced as dumb people who wallow in ignorance and self righteous and hateful aggressiveness. I’ve always thought of them as being aggressively defensive, so maybe I was on to something. People who hate others yet still want to find a reason. Trump gave them permission to be like that and they bought his message completely. He made them feel good about themselves and I fear we’ll never hear the end of it. They feel validated now.

On the Left and the Right. It’s Murdoch’s business model, just trollin’(with tons of disinformation).
They’ve been misinforming people for decades on climate change, this is just a new twist.

8. This actually makes sense and is fully consistent w/ Republican values.

Republicans want to weaken government as much as possible in terms of regulating companies and individuals.

Simultaneously, they want to strengthen corporations and employers to the point of them replacing government when it comes to controlling individuals.

Sadly, my daughter works in their main office (accounting department). She's recently had to start going back in several times a week, and was terribly unhappy at the lax enforcement of safety concerns. I'm very glad they decided to get serious about this.
I also think they're cutting back on in-office presence.
Believe it or not, they have been quite good about having nearly everyone work from home since the beginning of COVID, but now, hopefully, they're back on track. Oh, my daughter told me that there's one loony coworker who talks about how much she loves Hannity and Tucker (but she's the only one -- apparently most of the employees are 'normal.'
And trust me, she's never stopped looking for another job!
