I certainly agree, Lawrence has the background - and he remembers! And he also worked with those who were involved at the time. He's done a stellar job explaining the history...

His statements should be required viewing for all the rest of today's talking heads.

This is, as you say, one that should be required for all the talking heads.

We tend to forget since he did TV more recently. I once saw him playing a judge who got called out by Monk for cheating...

I've known about him for several years, he's at least a good person. My sister works in the broadcast industry and she has interacted with him, doesn't think very highly of him. She can be a bit of a snob herself and I suspect they have similarities she doesn't appreciate. We have very different views in some areas.

That's why I thought it was quite strange to see him playing a sleazy judge!

I missed a lot of what was and is on teevee. I didn't know he played any role on anything. Was he any good at it?

He played a judge that detective Monk figured out had been fooling around with his assistant.

The strangest one, though, is Rev. Sharpton. It's been awhile, but he did play himself ages ago on Law & Order. As part of the storyline, he was advocating for someone - and he looks completely different!
