Enough of these idiots can't get service at Denny's on their drive down to Florida, or have to book an oil change three months in advance, and they'll start whining like toddlers.

... anger in his voice was very real. I bet you that those school lunches got a bunch of kids
around his Tennessee the best meals that they would have all week.

I went to Mississippi public schools and I had friends who got the free lunch. I think they had breakfast, too back then. You could tell they weren't getting fed at home. They would go back and get seconds; the ladies at my school allowed them to have seconds.

I was fortunate to have a mom who was a good cook and she cooked dinner every night, unless she was tired and decided to pick up a pizza instead.

We used to joke about those mothers who didn't cook. Back then it was expected for the mother to have some sort of skills in the kitchen, and it was flouting convention not to. But looking back on it now, those families might not have been able to afford much food and that's why the mom wasn't cooking any. I had never thought about that.

I just don’t as gonna post about this as I just read about it. I just cannot understand the thinking process of some of our elected. Feeding children will spoil them? Didn’t Jesus say suffer the children? Have they taken “suffer” literally or don’t they know Bible speak?

personal mail from the school system - an application for the federal free lunch program for the kids. Trouble was that DH, at the time, was employed, an appointed manager in a county department, and my mind jumped too quickly to corruption because our joint wages surely would never qualify us for this program. Guess I was plenty offended, so I called; they said the mailing was a mistake. Well, there was plenty of other questionable political "goings on" then that led to lots of other delusional(?) beliefs, and his politically appointed job didn't last any longer than the next general election.
