U.S. Coast Guard prepares for Hurricane Ida rescues - CBS News

The U.S. Coast Guard is standing by in several states as Hurricane Ida lashes the Gulf Coast. But some officials are worried they may not be able to begin rescue services until the storm passes. Vice Admiral Steven Poulin, commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area and Coast Guard Defense East, joins CBSN's Elaine Quijano to discuss.

I wondered where Ali Velshi was today since he usually broadcasts early Sunday. I figured that since he's substituted for every host during the past few weeks that it must be his turn for time off. But I was wrong - he's in New Orleans today reporting that the power is out! Between the winds and the rain, they're saying this is worse than Katrina. And it's headed north! Stay safe!
