This is your commentator, fresh from the Booster Shot, let's stop validating the morons who are collaborating with Covid-19 to keep the ICUs full and the health care workers at risk. They aren't "waiting for more information" - they're AFRAID. They aren't "exercising personal choice" - they're AFRAID.

(8,144 posts)immune system (lupus-like syndrome with extreme complications) and a still active shingles infectionsystemic, i.e. internal, not topical. As long as markers for that infection and given state of her health, particulars of her case, vax contraindicated.
My daughter, her caregiver, wrote to a doctor who is in an advisory relationship to administration about not lumping all people who refuse vaccination together, as some truly must be exempt. He kindly wrote back and promised to mention such cases in his next podcast. This ill relation is under the advice of a PCP and specialists in Ca., all definitely not anti vax.
True, most immune compromised patients wont be harmed and could and DO benefit by getting vaccinated, so almost universally recommended. But not in absolute terms. But anyone so sick will not be walking around risking ANY infection. Touch and go for them to go to ER.
P.S. I am in agreement with Keith and short of going house to house to tie people down and jab em, probably could support tougher mandates.

(2,809 posts)I just got my Pfizer booster a couple hours ago. So far, no sweat, but planning on a slow Saturday in case I'm yukked out.
Intentional timing:
I'll be re-joining the ranks on the front lines in a couple weeks, wearing space suits and N95 masks to enter patient's room and do their imaging, after taking some time to convalesce and heal from the long run post COVID symptoms that have been hanging on me far too long.
There's no way I was going back now with Delta strain all that much more virulent, without as much immunity as I can get aboard. I'm 62 and have some risk factors that made the first round of the "plain" COVID rough enough to recover from.
There's no more hypocritical person IMHO than any caregiver refusing this vaccine. It's purely a political stance, I know of no caregiver that is the adamant-refusal sort that also wasn't an outspoken Trumper.
So they can take their golden idol TFG idiocy, hit the pavement and look for facilities that don't require this MINOR selflessness to their caregiving. Here's the world's smallest violin playing, oh hell, I'll take requests.
Gotta love me some Keith!
