They want power for power's sake. Just look at Mitch McConnell. That is strictly what he's about. He will attack the Democrats ruthlessly until the GOP regain power, then he'll do anything he can to hold on to power.

So why does McConnell do this over and over again? It isn't about money, not really. He and his wife are quite wealthy and have more than they'll ever spend. He certainly isn't hanging on in the Senate so he can help the little guy. It's all about power, attaining it and keeping hold of it. It's extremely dangerous when amoral people get in charge of the powers of government. I don't know how we're going to dislodge these assholes so we can have a better government.

When was the last time McConnell supported anything designed to help his constituents?? He sees his "job" as obstructing anything that a Democratic POTUS puts forward and has said as much.

I think that it's got a lot to do with education and the average person's knowledge about government. They are confused about how government works and what to expect from it. These Republican snollygosters will take every opportunity to enrich themselves, their family, and friends. Then the Republicans go to Washington and take money out of the education budget, forcing cutbacks. Then they eventually cut back the subjects that teach civics, government, etc. Keep them ignorant and hungry and fighting over the scraps so they won't notice their politician robbing them blind.

They may vote, but after that they believe what they're told. Meanwhile, most of these Republicans are lying to them. Adam Schiff just learned that first hand from McCarthy. How many people follow the news close enough to have learned that?

With all due respect to Rep. Schiff, who I greatly admire and respect, TFG remade the GOP in his own warped, corrupted, deviant, and debased image.

"Flawed" is correct, as far as it goes. It just doesn't go nearly far enough.

Trump created his own party, then he headhunted members of the republican and democratic and other parties to help make up the new Reich! The party of trump is just that "TRUMP'S POLITICAL PARTY". This is not a republican party or a conservative party, it is the new NAZI party that fully intends to destroy our constitution under the pretense of saving the white race! Everybody keeps chucking dirt at trump, but trump is mearly a symbolic figure head. This new party needs a figure head to lead the masses the way the germans used adolph hitler to lead the german masses. And what do we do? The same thing that was done in Germany: if you're white you either join the party or shutup and stay out of the way! As for everybody else.....naw....that was long time ago...

This is not the GOP or the republican party, this is a new political party bent on overthrowing the democratic government. They're stealing republican representatives, voters, moderates and conservative alike to help them build this new party. They're using fear, racism, and violence, threats and intimidation. Whatever it takes! It took Hitler 2 or 3 times to take the chancellery and eventually secure enough power to make himself dictator. This is how he did it. We need to find out who these people are and where they are from. Putting trump in jail will feel great, but it wont solve the problem, pandora's box has been opened, trump can be a symbol from anywhere, home, jail, or the moon as long as he has access to his "people".

Those who choose to support TFG and get caught up in his lies either have no knowledge of history or are choosing to support him for their own nefarious political ends. The "Party of Lincoln" has become the party of bigotry, insurrection and dishonesty. The insanity that he espouses is actually the opposite of the previous Republican party of small government and conservatism.
