Just because a group is loud doesn't mean they are correct. Richard Ojeda breaks it down.

(6,699 posts)I am 74 years old. I grew up with white privilege, and at a time when we freely used the n word, referred to others as faggots and queers, thought a womans place was in the kitchen, and a myriad of other deplorable practices and mindsets.
I evolved. I served alongside colored brothers in Vietnam and stateside Army bases. I went to colleges and universities where I have been exposed to all minorities and ethnicities and religions. I have evolved. I have friends who are gay and lesbian, and grand children who are LGBT. I have been married to a professional woman, and I have two daughters that are professionals in the work world today, and provide for their families with their spouses. I have evolved.
But I still suffer from prejudice to the cult buffoons that drag our country into the sewer of stupidity. I see the red states represented by some of the most embarrassing and disgusting Americans in the land...and a constituency that CONTINUES to elect them to represent them in our government as we claw our way forward with our threatened democracy.....and I have a low opinion of people from the South and the Midwest for that simple reason. BLINDED by their fanatical religious nonsense beliefs, they are irresponsible and ignorant to help our country gain a solid foot hold on this shaky ground our nation is functioning from. I need to hear more voices from the South and the Midwest stand up and call out these idiots and fools from their regions so I can have hope that, with time, we can overcome their evil drag on our United nation.
I know there are MILLIONS of good, decent progressives and good citizens in those regions, just like there are MILLIONS of cult and gQp assholes in blue America. But I need to see them and hear their voices. I can evolve....but I desperately need experiences in my life to make that happen. His videos, and his energetic voice gives me hope.
