(461 posts)It's easy to forget how badly we need real gun control in this country
Can we please get just get the assault weapons and handguns off the streets
Keep your hunting rifles and your shotguns, just give up the guns that are designed to murder people

(7,760 posts).... will be "disabled" (impaired) for life.
The likelihood might be that he will decide a prosthetic below the elbow arm will be more functional than this arm repaired.
The medical expense will destroy an average individual. Combat veterans would benefit from the costs being covered by Veterans services as a service-connected injury.
WHO will pay for his treatment otherwise?

(3,881 posts)Rittenhouse didn't turn himself in until the next day. He left Wisconsin, and didn't turn himself in until he was back home in Illinois. That to to me seems rather significant and should be brought out in this trial.

(1,617 posts)I know I wouldn't have been able to hold myself together that well. Hope he finds peace, justice, and restitution from this and upcoming trials.
It was especially good to know that idiotic social media post his friend allegedly made was a lie or made up to begin with.

(1,617 posts)"Rittenhouse, now 18, pleaded not guilty to six charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree attempted intentional homicide."
Does a lot of it come down to the jury and what they consider reasonable, or are there specific elements the prosecutor has successfully proven?
Hard to imagine that shooting a defenseless medic wouldn't constitute at least a homicide, if not murder, but I've seen crazier things..
