8. To be fair, the vaccines aren't very effective against omicron either.

I had the two Pfizer shots and the booster, and I still got Covid over the holidays (most likely the omicron variant.) Granted, I was able to recover at home and not in a hospital, so maybe the vaccines were the difference there. I know whole families where everyone was triple vaccinated yet the entire family came down with Covid over the holidays as well. People should definitely get the vaccine as it is very effective against the alpha and delta variants, but much less effective against omicron. Masks should also be emphasized.

There are almost no cases of vaccinated people ending up in the hospital due to catching omicron. In the few cases I've heard about the person had health problems before catching it.

Note that an "effective" vaccine doesn't mean you won't catch it, it means you won't end up in the hospital, in the ICU, on a ventilator, & die from it. The vaccines are almost 100% effective at preventing hospitalization & death from omicron, but a vaccine can't somehow block particles floating in the air that you inhale, so you can still catch it.

DeSantis IMO wants to be a dictator and if not well challenged could possibly do it. He should not be underestimated in the least, as well as the huge number of damn idiotic fools in the US.
