I am an old Cold-Warrior and I just cannot comprehend what I have been witnessing for the last five years and now this . . . .
Maybe I have lived too long.

(1,723 posts)I was infuriated last night by Lawrence O'Donnell when he used his superior English skills to humiliate Colonel Vindman on air on his show the Last Word. Col. Vindman was trying to tell us how to deal with a well known scheming, calculating, bully (which is to stand up to him, stop him). I was especially infuriated by O'Donnell's stupid question, Can you guarantee that... (fill in the blank)? That type of question is an insult to listeners as well as the person being asked such an ignorant question. Norah O'Donnell (CBS News) sometimes asks that type of question. I like her a lot, but that question seriously diminishes her credibility as a person with a brain.
We spent 5 years watching Republicans like former Air Force lawyer, Lindsay Graham, act like a sniveling 4-year old as Trump (apparently) bullied him as well as all of the Republican leaders into submission.
Now our government and NATO are letting Putin bully them to the point of embarrassment.
As Col. Vindman and many others have observed, if a bully gets away with one crime, he will do more, and more, and bigger crimes. He will not stop until he is stopped.
Will all of the sanctions stop Putin? Will the people of Russia rise up and overthrow him? Ha.
Will the people of this country and NATO rise up and demand that we stop Putin? Quite possibly.
In the mean time, a president who has us acting like scaredy cats will lose the next election.
