That's a benefit of incumbency. George Bush attempted to do the same thing at various points in his presidency albeit with cynical calculation, and Romney would too.

Just to be clear I am not saying that I think Obama is anything less than sincere or that Mitt Romney is anything more than a calculting politician who would jump at the chance to politicize this.

I'm ashamed to have fallen out with Obama 2 years ago.
I got too caught up in the details not to look at the big picture.
This is the man who will change this country for the better.
He is The One.
