OSU Police Beating

This video describes the police beating of Joseph Hines (an honor student from Jackson, Michigan, who was recruited to Ohio State University's "College of Medicine School of Allied Medical Professions".) This police beating took place across from the Student Union at Ohio State University on Aug. 29th, 2012 at 11:45pm. This video will show you the community, family, and young man that were affected by the poor judgement of the police. 1. They probably didn't realize he was a medical student.

I guess the cops probably mistook him for a poor person because he is black.

There are alot of students around that corner but also a lot of homeless people and just people hanging out.

Hopefully some witnesses will come forward.

But they could have gotten away with it easier.

If the cops knew he was a college student they probably wouldn't have beaten him up. They tend not to do that. They usually just herd drunk college kids back to the other side of the street where the school is.

4. Ummm, sorry but no.

I've seen acts of outright brutality towards the students of OSU by CPD. I've been here since 86, and I've seen more more college students being smacked around by the police than I care to remember. The CPD are a bunch of pissed-off thugs who mistakenly think they are living in Oakland, and I have experienced them first-hand. I remember trying to pull this guy off of a girl who was trying to drive away from him. He was attacking her through the drivers-side window. As I was dragging this guy off of her, I was blind-sided and punched by the CPD. They then cuffed me and attempted to remove my shoulder from the socket. These guys are pricks to students. They love to "make an example" of their authority.
