...and we can actually pinpoint the time frame behind it. The rules of civility went out the window with the election of the 1st black president when the party declared open season and anything goes. That marked the rise of the conspirator in chief, DJT

I believe it goes back further however to the Gingrich Congress when he made the statement "We don't want to beat the democrats, our job is to destroy the democrat party"

Such a stark statement at the time, I'll never forget it. Now they have that embroidered on couch pillows.

Farther then to our 1st black president. Back to Reagan at least if not farther. The right has been at war with the legislation both Roosevelts passed when they were President so yes, much farther back.

However I do think President Obama speed it up a little. I firmly feel that a big reason why we are where we are is because President Obama wanted to “look forward, not backwards”.

A lot of the dubious people we are dealing with now saw a war started based on lies, saw human beings tortured by us, saw Wall Street vivisect the global economy and then saw not one person of significance held accountable by President Obama or Eric Holder. This told those people that if you make the crime big enough nothing will happen, it does not get much bigger then trying to overthrow the government. Personally I think being so incompetent and morally void that 1 million+ Americans died because of decisions made is bigger than a Coup but…

I will give credit where it is due. There was 1 broker they prosecuted from a small bank on the East Coast I believe. Holder went in front of congress and said out loud that the banks were “too big too fail” giving Wall Street the road map to get away with more.

Laws only work if they are enforced. If they are not enforced civilization will eventually break down as well.

Republicans would help Goldfinger empty Fort Knox for a cut.

he'd stroll on the beach in wingtip shoes. (Saw a video of it once.) He may have been the most anal retentive person who ever existed.

We know now that he illegally "colluded" with the Vietnamese to thwart LBJ's peace talk negotiations, resulting in 7 more years of war and thousands of deaths and debilitating injuries on both sides. As Mary Trump said in her book, "Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon for the wrong crime..."

Indians, then a civil war where Republican was the name used by the "good guys." I don't see it as different today -- just new labels and issues. "Follow the money" rules, regardless of the century and what individual politicians say and do. Sure Nixon and Regan were evil, but not in a vacuum.
