Mike Huckabee says vote for Republicans or else

Mike Huckabee continues the GOP pre-election push to make sure everyone knows Republican "leaders" are just horrible, miserable human beings. He's cut a new ad claiming in that usual, not-terribly-subtle Republican pseudopreacher way, that if you vote the wrong way on Nov. 6 you're probably going to go to hell.

12. The irony is that, as deliberately inflammatory as the ad is, it makes no difference.

You can't possibly fire up Huckabee's target audience any more than they already have been for the last 15 years.

As religious zealots with undertones of racism, this is one demographic that you don't have to spend a penny more trying to motivate to come out on election day. So, from their point of view, this won't help to turn out any more voters from their base. From our point of view, this kind of demagogue hyperbole actually serves to PUT OFF a few moderate voters.

So...don't be angry. Every time you see this commercial, just think to yourself "there goes one or two more moderate voters who ain't going to be voting for the Teahadists."
