Related: About this forumPresident Biden visits Uvalde, TX: Time to use executive orders to limit access to weapons of war
President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden visited the scene of the mass shooting of elementary school children in Uvalde, Texas. As they were leaving, news reports indicate that a person in the crowd shouted at President Biden, "do something," Biden responded, "we will."
It's time for President Biden to issue 100 executive orders in 100 days to address our national emergency - our public health crisis - being caused by unrestricted access of weapons of war.
This video discusses how past American Presidents - Lincoln, Eisenhower, Roosevelt - used executive orders to accomplish so much good for the American people, and highlights how President Biden can issue executive orders to deal with the American epidemic of gun violence. - Glenn Kirschner 05/30/2022.

before the ink is dry. CONGRESS has to deal with this.

Next week, next year, ever?? The time to act is NOW.

I want to see action as much as you do, but EOs will not resolve the problem, and could in fact, make it much harder to get any legislation accomplished. Despite Trump's best attempts, this is still not an autocracy, and the President cannot unilaterally override the Constitution and it's SCOTUS intepretations. Congress can, and must, act. Will they ever? Seems unlikely, but it's not impossible.

And with his background as an attorney and prosecutor, he does know more than I do. *sigh*
