2. Mary's communication skills

Mary seems to always choose her words carefully. Notice how she consciously resisted the framing set up by tfg of Garland “going after” him. She adjusted: (Garland) just doing his job.

She is a measured communicator, which is how she holds and maintains respect.

The exact opposite of her crazy uncle.

At least with the second one which contains a lot of American history, early and recent. Her first book was an exposé of her family going back to her grandparents and explained how their kids grew up - and how her uncle turned out as he did. I recommend both books, I have them on audio, read by the author, and I've listened to them in my car.

Not the second one. Yes wasn’t the family psychology fascinating? Fred was really maladjusted. This mess he parented has had global effect.

Because she was so ill during their youngest years and spent so much time in the hospital. The part I found heartbreaking was when the father told his elder daughter that her mother was probably going to die - and then he sent her to school. And then she was called to the office to answer the phone and she was sure that this was the news that she dreaded - and though she was just a kid herself, she was expected to look after the younger ones - their father wasn't interested in little kids.

when you have spent most of your life developing a sense of entitlement and 'I can do what I want just because I'm me!', also known as 'You are not the boss of me!'.

Part of rejoining the real world, for those who can make it, is to lose that sense of entitlement and then face the world as it is, not the world of make believe like the one Trump and most of his followers live in.

It's unbelievable that he's reached the age that he has and has never had to answer to anyone or anything before.
