Russia has launched a murder investigation after the daughter of pro-Kremlin commentator Alexander Dugin was killed in a car bomb explosion near Moscow. Unverified social media footage appears to show Darya Dugina's father Alexander at the scene. He's been dubbed 'Vladimir Putin's brain'. Both have supported Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Al Jazeera's Zein Basravi has more.

(111,277 posts)because Dugin has been reading his papers and collecting his speaking fees, but she was out front with the poison on state TV.
She was pretty awful, fascism with mascara and a sweet smile.
As for who is responsible, chances are we'll never know and neither will most Russians.
I disagree that it will make Putin's war worse. Ukraine is badly damaging their ability to fight by destroying supplies and supply lines.

(111,277 posts)because what little I've found out there is a crazy stew of Manifest Destiny, Mein Kampf, and religious nonsense that states Russia is god's chosen country and the planet will be united under Russia--bizarre to sane people but I guess what passes for their intelligentsia has been eating it up for years. Having Ukraine kick Yanukovich out and turn to the west was a personal affront to their political and religious belief system.
I doubt it will make Dugin any worse, he's an old bugger (80) and not in the greatest health. In addition, nobody's going to claim responsibility for this one and the power structure in Moscow has a lot of domestic enemies. In addition, if there was a last minute car switcheroo, he's got to be consumed with survivor guilt. Even monsters love their children.
Putin and his Kremlin fascists have made a lot of enemies in Russia, so that's where this bomibing originated. It could have been a Chechen, a Georgian, an ex Russian military guy who saw all his friends die in Putin's war, or even the FSB, a group formerly on top but which was sidelined thanks to the intelligence failures that said Ukraine would greet the tanks with flowers and kisses. Or it could be somebody way out in left field, a miner who is now out of a job because of the sanctions and who had access to mine explosives and the brain power to make it go boom when he wanted it to. That's what we'll just never know.
