Related: About this forumHow High Do You Have To Be To See The Curvature of The Earth 360/VR
It's well understood that from the surface of the Earth the curvature of the planet is not readily visible, but, as you travel higher the shape of the world becomes apparent to a casual glance. So I wanted to actually quantify this in an visual form using Youtube's 360 Video feature, it's obviously best experienced through a VR headset, or a 'Cardboard' style viewer, but you can also use the web browser if you just want to appreciate the visuals.

(10,920 posts)1. It took me awhile to realize that I could pan it -- hold down the left mouse button and scroll
say upward (push the mouse away from you while holding down the left mouse button) to see more of the earth and less of the sky. Before that I wasn't seeing some of the countries he was talking about. And one can scroll left and right too ... For example at 5:50 ...
Its also cool that one can see Orion a little below and a little to the right of the sun... with his head closest to the sun.
Justice matters.
