2. The payments don't come out of the budget

The deductions in workers’ paychecks today pay for my SS as my paychecks paid for older people. If you end the payments, you’re essentially robbing those funds for other purposes. Unless they’re also planning to stop those paycheck deductions, which I have never heard any of them suggest.

SS does not contribute to budget deficits.
