Seth Meyers takes a moment to address some of the errors from this week of Late Night, like messing up the lyrics from Billy Joel's "Piano Man" and holding the Maryland state flag upside down.

1. The nearest turkey trot in my neck of the woods is in Cuero.

The high school mascot are the Gobblers.

2. I kept waiting for the third video, News and Jokes of the Week, but it never showed up!

And what a name for a team, don't they get picked on??

The school mascot/team name here is the Spartans! I was on a team, earned a big gold Q...

3. Actually, Cuero almost always has a good football team.

They won a few state championships and there are some big guys there so I don't think that the Gobblers mascot was the butt of too many jokes.

When I was in college, my high school in George West was realigned into the same district with Cuero and another perennial playoff team, Refugio. George West was lucky when they called the game against Refugio at the end of the third quarter due to a thunderstorm and we were losing 42-0, the following week we lost to Cuero 77-0. No chance of us being realigned into the district for either team since the enrollment at Refugio has decreased while the enrollment at Cuero has increased. The enrollment at my high school has remained stagnant for about 40 years.

4. Yikes! That sounds like my college football team

They were tough on academics, weak on sports. One time I found myself in the same room as the assistant football coach, so to make conversation, I asked him how he thought the team would do that week. And he said "I'm not thinking about winning, I'm worried about injuries." Oh, and that team's name was the "Continentals" - Hamilton College, there's a statue of it's namesake right on campus. If I remember, students kept stealing his head...

5. You know that your football team sucks

when every away game is scheduled as your opponent's homecoming. During my junior year we went 0-10 and only scored 38 points throughout the entire season. For the five away games we didn't get home until really late since the opponents had the homecoming festivities. The only saving grace that year was that our punter averaged about 45 yards per punt.

The next year wasn't as bad, we went 7-3 and won the district.

6. Sounds like my college's team

Their most frequent scorer graduated after my second year and they never one one game during my time there after that, think it was some sort of record. And the kicker had only one arm.
