establishes as a fact that a seditious conspiracy existed. It does not technically constitute a "legal precedent." To qualify as a legal precedent, a ruling must come from an appellate court or higher. Rhodes's attorney plans to appeal, so there's a good chance for precedent to be established. But the verdict should make it easier for any prosecutor charging someone involved to press the seditious conspiracy charge - now that we know a conviction is attainable. Prior to this case, the last time anyone attempted to convict on this charge was in 2010, and the attempt failed.

And it could. But its not given.

Something else that could happen but is also not a given is that the special counsel y=dcould decide to press the documents case sooner and seperatelt, and give the momentum some time to build before pressing insurrection charges. We know Jack Smith don't play, and that he works holidays id needed. But we don't (and probably shouldn't) have a clue to his intentions.
