Prior to the midterms I was predicting we'd pick up 4 to 6 Senate seats, and keep the House.
Instead of a new Crystal Ball, maybe I need to do something else.

So the fact that we barely lost the House and actually picked up a seat in the Senate is truly remarkable - and speaks to the fact that the Republicans, thanks to TFG and "his" terrible candidates, have lost popularity. The news has said this was a record win, but I take your point.

on account of Jan 6th and Roe vs Wade, we were going to do a lot better than we did.
My glass was more than half full for the midterms, some people even agreed with me.

I should have been paying closer attention so I'd remember the history of the incumbent party's traditional losses in the Midterms - I do remember Obama talking about a 'shellacking' - so it is remarkable that we actually picked up a seat and barely lost the House. And we've heard that this leaves the President Biden in a good position to get things passed, unlike what happened under Obama.
