When most presidents are no longer in office, they occupy themselves with starting foundations, building presidential libraries or building houses. 
And TexasTowelie posted as usual yesterday, he must be getting some shuteye. 
As for the weather, yours sounds similar to what we experienced here. It was unseasonably warm and it rained, then the temps dropped 40 degrees and everything froze, but we didn't get much snow which is unusual. What we got was the wind, we had a power outage here for a few hours on Saturday because of the wind. And since the power lines are underground in this newer area, this was the first time since Hurricane Irene came through in 2011!
I hope that you had a nice holiday. It was so cold that I didn't feel like going out, but I had to see my brother and then stop by to see my good friend who moved into a new house - new to her, that is. And I came home with a cat. Her daughter has adopted three cats over the past few years, but the latest one is larger and scares the littlest one and she hides. I lost my own cat recently, which was tough, so I came home with one very friendly cat, but he's in a new place so he's hiding now, too. *sigh*
