Legal Experts Are Confident That Trump Is Definitely Getting Indicted - Ring of Fire

During a recent appearance on MSNBC, multiple legal experts said that they have no doubt at all that Donald Trump is going to be indicted. The evidence at this point really is overwhelming, and if the target weren't named "Trump" it would certainly guarantee that an indictment would be on the way. But we've seen Trump get away in the past, so should we really be "confident" about an indictment? Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins answers that question.

On Ms. N B C earlier this week, specifically on Chris Hayes's program, three legal experts appeared, two lawyers, one legal professor. It was Andrew Weisman, Maya Wiley, and Charles Coleman all appeared and every single one of them, all three of these legal experts said that they have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Donald Trump is definitely going to be indicted. Now, there's lots of different things. They didn't say what exactly he's gonna be indicted for because they said it could be a lot of things, or they may just try to, you know, whittle it down to one or two things. Cuz as we know, there's lots of different investigations involving Donald Trump. You have the criminal referrals that just came from the January 6th committee. You have the ongoing grand jury investigations with the DOJ and the fake elector scheme and the plot to overturn 2020. You have the DOJ also looking at the documents case you got the special grand jury down in Georgia, which by the way, they had told us indictments were coming in early December. We're now in late December and haven't had any indictments from them. So that's a little concerning. However, the legal experts say, don't you worry folks, somewhere down the line, one of these investigations is sure gonna bear fruit. And Donald Trump is going to be indicted. Now, every one of these people I mentioned again, Andrew Weisman, Maya Wiley, Charles Coleman, they know so much more about the law, the legal process, the investigatory process than I could ever hope to. They are in fact the experts, whereas I am not, especially compared to them.

I'm kind of gonna disagree with them though. I want Trump to get indicted if he committed crimes. Absolutely. Let's make no question about that. I think that's pretty obvious for people that watch regularly. You know that that's where I am, and I know you are too. But at the same time, how many times, how many times throughout Trump's administration and since he left office, have we seen headlines? Have we heard somebody say, oh, this is it. This is it for Trump. Oh, there's no way he walks away from this. Is this the end of Trump? The last in the headlines? And the answer is always, no. No it's not. No matter what it is, no matter what the scandal, no matter what the scam, no matter the level of potential criminal activity we could be dealing with, the man somehow always walks away from it. Now, this time, of course, is very different. You know, the, the guy may have used up all of his nine lives at this point. But based on history, I

Think think it's a little foolish right now to even get our hopes up. I want an indictment. If we've got firm evidence of crimes, as does, I think everybody else, hell poll show. Majority of people in the country also want that. But just because we want it doesn't mean we're gonna get it. And again, usually I would defer to these experts on this particular matter, but they seem a little too optimistic to me. If we didn't have years and years of history of Trump getting away with it, I would be just as optimistic as well. But again, they know more about the legal process, so maybe they've got good reason to be optimistic. Something that I don't quite understand. But whatever it is, I'm still not getting my hopes up. There is a part of me that is going to continue hoping that it happens. I'm not giving up hope completely, but if I were a betting man, I wouldn't put any money on it either.
