On another topic, the truth is that we are fascinated with this story because few of us can conceive of lying to this extent. Most of us just tell white lies, but to fabricate an entire identity is another .

And I agree with you, we can't imagine how this happened, did no one know this guy?? He made up a entire persona, not to mention often contradicting himself, and continued to get away with it until after he was elected. Of course, we know now that he was found out, particularly by his opponent, but nobody picked up the story until it was too late! Sounds like a bad movie...

criminal party. Santos has actually done us a favor by drawing a huge amount of attention to the fact that there is a complete political party so morally bereft that an entirely new set of legislation has to be drawn up.
