Russian narrative of the ongoing war - Eastern Express - TVP World
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has assessed that the Kremlin authorities are now intensifying the narrative where the war against Ukraine is being compared to the Great Patriotic War. This, as it happens, was precisely the Russian historical narrative for WWII. The motive clearly seems to be increasing support for a prolonged armed conflict and mobilization, where Putin is even comparing the fighting in the Donbas to “fighting neo-Nazis”.
