It'll be needed for the 2014 Midterms. I also hope that they can expand the current network that they have.

There are races in typically red states that can be won.

One of the former head of the Susan G. Komen foundation that resigned amid the scandal earlier may decide to run as a republican in Georgia against Saxby Chambliss. The democrat who ran against him in 2008 only lost by 3% points. If this woman gets in and is seen or can be portrayed as too extreme, maybe that seat can be re-taken by a democrat.

with a questionnaire asking such things as what demographic group I was in, what training I was given, how many hours I contributed, how staff interacted with volunteers and the community, what I would be interested in doing for 2014 plus lots of other questions.
