- less efficient than silicon-based solar-cells

+ will be way easier to manufacture (prototypes are routinely made from scratch in the labs)
+ production will be way cheaper as they don't need doped silicon, just organic molecules and a transparent protective layer (glass- or plastic-sheet)
+ depending on the used organic material, they can be transparent (-> usable instead of a window)
+ depending on the cover-material, they can be bendable (-> you can use your tent-canvas to power electronics)

WOW big Tarps that could be moved & folded & taken down & stored before severe weather hits, that would be great.
Solar Powered shingles must be round the corner.

Also shade type things for gardens maybe required soon to help keep stuff growing & not dying in heat, we had these over certain flowerbeds & they absorbed 25% of the light.

I use tarps all the time, to cover something outside & plug the tarp into the grid would make power!

Nanosolar's printable solar panels allow a printing-press type production on rolls of sheet metal.

A few cities own their own power plants and therefore the citizens of their jurisdiction can be provided with lower cost energy. Who owns sunlight and electrons coming from the Sun; a star.

Corporations like BP pay no royalties for the oil they pump from under the floor of the Gulf of Mexico.

The new solar industry needs government regulations. Taxpayer money builds supper highways and then foreign companies run toll booths or pays to build part of that highway and keeps that part of the toll. We need regulations concerning usage. Government is supposed to protect the consumers.

Better yet is if they make one that holds the roof down better than plain shingles.

Even better is if they make one where the shingles ARE solar panels.
