Today was Day 8 of H2O Man's Hunger Strike.
Just a reminder of what's been posted before:
You do not have to be a NY resident but it helps if you are one and/or could send this on to friends there. If you can, please make calls every day until he meets with either Libbous or Cuomo?
He is asking for an interview with either his State Senator Libbous and/or with the Governor. His concern is that, as they have refused to meet with any anti-fracking groups, that they don't have all the info needed about this dangerous process.
Please call the following people:
1.) Senator Libbous (offices in Binghamton and Albany. The Binghamton phone numbesr are: 607-773-8771, and 877-854-2687. The Albany number is: 518-455-2677. His e-mail is: senator@senatorlibous.com .)
2.) Governor Cuomo (518-474-8390) - You do not have to be a New York State resident for this to be meaningful to him as he has presidential aspirations for 2016.
3.) AND please call Mary Beth Postman (914-422-4343) and request that RFK Jr make a statement saying that Senator Libous should meet with McElligott.

(12,126 posts)one from Texas who explained to the Governor about the Texans' concern over the earthquakes caused by fracking.
The pro-frackers are just not going to win this one. They should just admit it now.

(6,145 posts)Fracking is a generational issue and unfortunately for Sen. Libous it's just starting to crack the conventional wisdom. He'd be wise to meet with you now h2oman.

(12,126 posts)He also gives his email on his voicemail and is asking for suggestons on local heros. I've enjoyed recommended McElligott as a local hero for him to acknowledge. Heh.

(8,556 posts)I hope that he can help effect some change on fracking.
I also hope that some DUers who have disparaged the anti-Chavez hunger strikers will change their tune on this one.

(12,126 posts)Hunger strikes are pretty hard on the body and his health hasn't been the best.
AND, historically they don't end well if the demands aren't met. /sarcasm thingie

(62,325 posts)Too bad citizens have to go to these extremes to get a meeting with the Reps whose salaries they pay. I bet the lobbyists don't have this problem.
Great work, thank you for posting the video.
