TYT: Virginia Official: Athiests Are Terrorists

"A Virginia official referred to a group of atheists as 'terrorists' after one of the group's members criticized a local courthouse for putting up religious holiday decorations.

Ken Reid, a supervisor who represents Virginia's Leesburg District, was angered by the atheists' reaction to the Christmas decorations on the lawn of the Leesburg courthouse, the Washington Times reports.

Over the years, the courthouse decorated its facility by hanging a Skeleton Santa Claus from a cross and featuring paintings that show the manger birth of the Flying Spaghetti Monster as well as the traditional birth of Jesus. The lawn this year also contained a Christmas tree and a menorah. Such decorations have been displayed at the courthouse every year since 2009, when the Loudon County Board of Supervisors lifted a ban on courthouse holiday displays, allowing any religious group to contribute decorations."*

Is it unfair for a religious display to be put on public land? How is opposition to this likened to terrorists? Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian discuss the angry denouncements of atheists from Leesburg.

disrespecting their imaginary sky daddies that are used to promote and justify wars, occupations, invasions, hatred, bigotry, misogyny, child abuse, and general ignorance to facts like global warming and evolution, creates a huge threat to their perceived power and essentially terrorizes them.

As an agnostic, I don't care whether or not someone else believes what they believe and wishes to show that belief. And if an Atheist wants to get their panties in a twist over some stupid holiday display, whatever, but their crusade to force others to not display their beliefs, in a country where many people have many faiths, and in a country where religious freedom is mandated, is just plain stupid.

Imagine the outrage if Christians started trying to force Sikhs to not wear turbans because Christians don't believe in that. Atheists, it is NO different. Get over yourselves and your false outrage.

Most religions have houses of worship. They can have the displays on their own sect's land. Atheists have no house of worship. Anyway, they have no interest in a display except when government allows use of public property for religious purposes.
