Badass Eric Swalwell: Mr Attorney General, you are serious, they are not,

you are decent, they are not, you are fair, they are not. So I welcome you to the law firm, Insurrection, LLP, where they work every single day on behalf of one client, Donald Trump. And they do that at the expense of millions of Americans who are in need for the government to stay open, their kids safe in their schools, and would like to see Ukraine stay in the fight so we don't help Russia... It's the difference between the one side that believes in governing, and one side that believes in ruling...."

They're both wonderful, and seeing either of them approach a microphone is enough to lift my spirits.

5. The question to you, Mr. AG is not answered.

A piece of advice, Garland, the world will not turn for the worse nor cease spinning on its axis if you simply answer the question which is on so many minds re: your essential humanity. Have you no sense for the proportions of the arena in which you perform? Have you really no "dog in the hunt"? I'd be all over and enthusiastically supporting you if you'd simply state out loud, in front of real humans, that you appreciate what's on every citizen's mind. Which being, "they suck and we need to eradicate them".

Daily, we are dangerously skated by ungrounded personalities to the edge of oblivion while the guards at the gates have their phasers set on stun or off.

Oooops, I'm overstating again.

8. What you're asking Garland to do is not realistic.

Sure, it would be very satisfying to hear him say what we're all thinking, but it's not something he can do.

12. In theory, he could have done that.

In reality, there could be ramifications we're not aware of, of his agreeing with such a partisan (albeit very accurate) statement. As a Democratic congressman, Swalwell is expected to be partisan. The AG's role has different requirements.

In any case, after rewatching that clip to refresh my memory, I don't see Garland's response to that particular question as problematic, and I don't think Swalwell did, either. You are, of course, free to disagree.
