Close encounter with gorillas

At a tourist camp in Africa, silverback gorillas encounter and interact with a human. You can see how overwhelmed the guy is. Not sure I would have stayed that calm.

And when the little ones get too close to the human for dad's comfort, he gently nudges them away.

I know it's not likely, but I would like to think that our ancestors and those of gorillas might have peacefully coexisted at one point.
Tragically we are even more violent than chimpanzees so that is unlikely.
But Gorilla reactions to us give me hope that there might have been some positive interaction.....
