As the rumbling mass of people delay the start of huge rolling protests, it makes the fight harder and harder to wage.

Now with spy drones and secret murder lists, with indefinite detention and military authorization to control American streets, the battle of peaceful protesters against cops and soldiers will be a very, very difficult one. Or, the American people may sheepishly submit to fascist tyranny.

4. Oh, marmar....whatever are we going to do? I don't know how Obama can

utter the phrase "we the people" without absolutely choking on his words, or having lightning strike him or something.

Moreover, I don't know how anyone on DU can craft some sort of defense of the Obama administration's actions - that is, without referring to Lily Ledbetter or some other irrelevancy to make their case.

When I look at Obama, the word that comes to mind is "expediency". Always.

6. I agree with you 100 per cent. We are no longer in nascent

fascism or on the cusp of fascism, we are a full-blown fascist State. The election now over, the MIC can move forward once again keeping the water warming just slow enough to keep the frogs from jumping out of the pan. Unfortunately, you can't say anything too stark here or the few whose job it is to ban the non-believers will be on you like a fly on shit. Many of us saw what was happening long ago. It is now to late to stop it; we have an uneducated population working two or more jobs just to survive--many uncaring at all. We are done. I just wonder how long before the training camps and the endless commercials about the wonderfulness of the State. I have enjoyed your posts, T2P. I hope they don't try to take you out.

... I think he has no choice in the matter. Yes, they are making him responsible for it, as he is the President. But just like JFK, who would have liked to have abolished the CIA into a thousand tiny pieces, he can't. Because the MIC won't let him. We all need to keep this in mind, and try not to blame PO for it. Hang in there...

Again...thank you marmar for this post. Everyone needs to sit still and give this man their undivided attention. LISTEN to what he is saying. And go back and listen to it again. We really are in deep doo-doo if we, the People, can't get a handle on what is being proposed or literally done, with and/or without our knowledge, and can't do anything about it. All this is what the MIC has cooked up to insure that war will be never-ending, unlike the cold war, which did finally come to an end. If this can't be stopped, we, the USA, are war criminals. We are doing things against International Law. We will truly BE a Rogue nation. A dictatorship. It's the reason we are not signatories to the International Criminal Court (GW did this.) No longer adhering to International Law, nor our own Constitution. This is the final chapter, folks.
We might not have a chance to save our democracy after this...
