The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsAt 8 pm, I begin the prep for my 2nd colonoscopy of the year.
I start by drinking a small bottle of some kind of stuff and then it's a clear liquid diet. The real fun starts tomorrow afternoon. Then Friday it's off to the hospital.
The part that bugs me the most is not being able to have my morning coffee the day of the procedure. Everything else doesn't bother me.

(63,912 posts)Hopefully they can figure out why I have belching, occasional vomiting, nausea, rumbling in my gut, flatulence and chronic diarrhea.

(9,353 posts)Have they checked your gall bladder and also for H.Pylori?
Those two can also cause many of your symptoms.

(9,353 posts)You need an upper GI endoscopy with a sample.
Gall bladder is another one that is not diagnosed with blood work. Not sure what tests are indicated but CT scan sounds like a good choice.
Colonoscopy only deals with what is the colon and large intestine.

(14,275 posts)Just make sure you do not have to share bathroom access with anyone. And stock up on toilet paper before you begin.

(1,967 posts)Abdominal hernia perhaps? I had one for years with some of your same symptoms. Neither my doctor nor my gastroenterologist caught it. Finally the emergency room doctor discovered it when I almost died of a blocked intestine.
Anyway, good luck. I hope you are well soon.

Are all men such, um, well, ..... "intolerant" of these things?

(17,003 posts)The prep totally sucked. Clear liquid all day Monday. Drink batch 1 at 6:00 pm. Drink batch 2 at 6:00am Tuesday. Get to the procedure place at 1:00pm. Food at 4:00. But beats the shit out of dying of colon cancer.
