thank you for reminding me to go to it.

It's rare for 3 eaglets to survive, but somehow that nest seems to produce.

The National Eagle Center’s newest ambassador is blind in one eye and freaks out at the color yellow. But he’s oh-so wicked smart.

On Sunday, the center introduced Latsch, a 2-year-oldish eagle, as its newest ambassador. Nearly two years ago, the abandoned baby eagle was spotted on the shore of the Mississippi River north of Winona by a tour boat operator.

Latsch may have been blown out of his nest sitting atop a large cottonwood tree or he could have been kicked out of it by his parent. However the eagle ended up on the shore, abandoned and sickly. Latsch was severely emaciated when members of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service rescued him.

After being restored to health at the Raptor Center in St. Paul, Latsch was delivered to National Eagle Center to begin his new life as an eagle ambassador.
