Fortune cookies! Post your favorite fortune / story

"May you live in interesting times"

I got that one way back when the fortune cookies 1st came out. There was a large Chinese pagoda style lantern & I was about 10 (I'm 60 now). I thought the fortune was good & read it out loud.

The waiter smiled-leaned in and said-it is actually a curse!

I know what he means now......We are in very "interesting" times I would dare say.

Just kidding.

I remember one time in high school out with friends at a Chinese buffet. One of us got a blank slip of paper so being giggly teens had fun telling him he was doomed once he left the restaurant.

"You can't possibly live long enough to make all of them yourself"

WTF does that even mean?

Of a old saying like don't carry the weight of the world-or it takes a village.

You see this every so often especially in instruction manuals. Just a guess.

You should learn from other people's mistakes, you don't have time to make them all yourself.

Just a few days later a friend and I stopped for gas during an out of town trip and we had an Elvis sighting!!! This guy was wearing a jumpsuit unbuttoned halfway to his navel, the black pompadour haircut and the gold framed sunglasses. 😄😄😄

I thought that was quite a profound saying when I was a teenager. Still do, actually.
