Happy 45th Anniversary, the Release of "Houses of the Holy"

Now I'm feeling old. It's not my favorite LZ album, but I've listened to it more times than I can count.

1973, Led Zeppelin released their fifth studio album Houses Of The Holy in the UK. The album title was a dedication by the band to their fans who appeared at venues they dubbed 'Houses of the Holy'. The cover is a collage of several photographs which were taken at the Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland, by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis. The two children who modelled for the cover were siblings Stefan and Samantha Gates.

Houses of the Holy

Houses of the Holy is the fifth studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, released on 28 March 1973 by Atlantic Records. It is their first album composed of entirely original material and it represents a turning point in musical direction for the band, who had begun to record songs with more layering and production techniques.

Containing some of the band's most famous songs, including "The Song Remains the Same", "The Rain Song", and "No Quarter", Houses of the Holy became a commercial success, and was later certified 11x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1999. In 2012, the album was ranked at #148 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The title track was originally recorded for the album, but was delayed until the release of band's next album Physical Graffiti in 1975.

Are pretty much the Led Zeppelin Triple Crown. I never cared for their earlier stuff, but I do have a guilty pleasure fondness for In Through the Out Door.

Ah the great memories!

I believe the concert was in 1973!

It was a great show, great day except ....

My father lent me his car to drive and I parked it somewhere near Kezar Stadium. However, when the show was over I couldn't find the car!

I was walking the streets in tears searching for my father's car. A S.F. policeman spotted me and asked me if he could help. I got in the patrol car and around and around we went. We found my father's car about 1/2 hr. later LUCKILY!

Those were indeed the good ol' days!
