Looking for stories about the 1992 LA riots from those in CA at the time

Hi all,

I am writing a book which is partially set against the backdrop of the 1992 LA riots, which were sparked by the Rodney King verdict. I was in San Francisco at the time and saw some scenes of unrest and destruction; now I am writing a crime drama with a couple of chapters that take place in San Francisco and Los Angeles during that timeframe.

I could really use any input from anyone who was also in California during that time frame; especially San Francisco or Los Angeles. I'm have a good amount of documentation as to what was going on in the trouble spots of South Central and Koreatown, but am particularly interested in what was happening in Hollywood and Marina Del Rey, as my characters will be in those areas.

Thanks very much!
