Heck, a human can't even outrun a house cat (35 mph). Cheetahs aren't particularly aggressive toward humans (there are only two recorded instances of cheetahs killing a person, one of whom was a child, https://owlcation.com/stem/cheetah-attacks-killing), and these were probably just curious, but the people certainly shouldn't have taken their little kid out of the car.

It will make sure you don't get back to the car. At the Omaha Zoo a tour guide said the cheetahs are kept in a different area of the park from the other great cats because they are afraid of them.

depending on gender, so not even as big as a golden retriever. But they're all muscle, and much less friendly than cheetahs; they do kill and eat people. I'd much, much rather be cornered by cheetahs than leopards.
