Word to the wise: Don't fall in love with a TV show.
It will never lead to anything good.

(15,806 posts)Although Ive made the mistake of binge watching orphan series- you know, series that only last one season but for some reason are available to stream? Yeah, those are really not satisfying to watch. The last one I watched was totally by accident.
And then when you find out a series has been cancelled, you wonder why you bother to watch the rest of the season. That's the case for me with The Crossing and Deception. Sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy by the networks. See, viewership is down. Well, it's down because you decided to cancel it.

(10,749 posts)You are so right.
Another cancellation I oppose, after only one season: Deception
I wonder - are the networks looking only at TV viewing, or do they factor in streaming? Granted, they probably don't make as much from streaming, but, still. . .
That said, by streaming via Hulu, etc., I don't really know what networks these shows are on, so the networks can't really factor in network loyalty. Very complicated world we live in, but surely they could have figured out a way to keep Lucifer going.
One more thing. I wish good British shows could manage more than 6 episodes per "series." By the time you're getting into a season, it's over.

(27,115 posts)Which I think is crazy.
It sometimes takes me a week or more to watch even my favorite shows.
Don't even get me started on this trend for tiny seasons.
Call me old fashioned (I plead guilty!) but I wish seasons would go back to when they were 26 episodes per season.

(50,949 posts)It's extremely goofy, and you start by saying, "I can't believe how stupid this is," but by the end of the episode you are laughing out loud.

(642 posts)There's a growing movement to have the show moved to another network, maybe the CW. The star of the show has been campaigning for it's return.

(90,764 posts)It isn't true, of course, but it does seem that way about a lot of shows.
We laugh about it now but we sure do miss "American Gothic". The 1995 series, that is. (w/ Gary Cole, Lucas Black, etc..)
