The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI think I'm moving in here for a while.
I started in the Loners group, but it's kinda lonely in there sometimes. I'll move back home when I'm ready lol. General Discussion is too serious for me right now and I'm retiring from hosting for a spell.
So, can I put my sleeping bag in a corner for a few days? I sleep walk and mooch refer and booze, but other than that I can behave!

(7,282 posts)I mean, don't people look before they sit?

(11,343 posts)I mean down! Leave it down!!!! Nothing worse than falling butt-to-porcelain at three in the morning!
Too many rules for us men, dont pee on the seat, put the seat up, put the seat down, we are always confused. Cant you just look? So many bathroom rules for us. Of course I demur to the females in the house but we seem to have way more steps involved in just peeing.

(17,304 posts)I think there's a lock on the Lounge liquor cabinet, so mooching might be your only option. Personally, I'm not a drinker but you can have one of my root beers.

(66,328 posts)The Lounge has been my hangout for going on seventeen years now. (God! Has it really been that long?...)
Boozing is always appreciated here. You should have been here for my drinking sessions with William Shakespeare himself. They had their own following (Long story, but California Peggy was there for most of them; you can ask her.)
Anyway, have a good time!

(66,328 posts)The real Richard III was nothing like the bitter, hunchbacked monster Will wrote about. He was noble, courageous, a loyal son and brother, an excellent administrator, and as the facial reconstruction of his newly-discovered skull shows, not at all bad-looking.
Will looked around us at the bar, then leaned in and muttered: "God's Wounds, lad. D'you want me to apostrophise the man Good Queen Bess's grandsire supplanted upon the throne? Treason, that is. I'd have me head off me shoulders before I could walk out the door!"
He hasn't spoken to me since. I guess I'm a bad influence. He's semi-retired and counting up all his money from his investments.

(17,193 posts)... back in my undergraduate days. Got an A in that class.
I talked a bit with the prof before my bit about the real Dickon and the one in the play. Dude was a decent guy, overall, and I do find the argument that Harry VII had more motive to off the Princes persuasive. But Will would certainly never float that idea in an administration deriving its legitimacy from that same Harry VII.
