Argh. Hamilton Tickets - What a shit exercise and perfect waste of a day.

Last edited Fri Nov 16, 2018, 03:49 PM - Edit history (1)

Final outcome. Waited for six hours to get in and find seating. The only thing left available were the $425 Orchestra seating. Way out of my ballpark. Looked at all days available.

Some other time, perhaps.

What a mess. I joined in before 9:00, which they claimed would put me on a random line order. Diligently pushed the "Wait in line" option. After nine o'clock they seemed disorganized, claiming the wait was over two hours. Then I noticed that the button said, "get in line" so I pushed it again. Eventually it said the wait was one hour. I looked at the update about a half hour later and the button that said, "get in line" said, "Leave the line" and the wait was back to two hours.

Crazy.

Update: It went down to 45 minutes, and we're back to two hours!!!

Update: Now it's five minutes!

Update: And we're back to two hours.

Truly abominable system. It's 2:07 and I'm still waiting to get through. I can understand waiting for tickets, but what I find unforgiveable is the grossly inaccurate waiting estimation times. It's not just a question of jumping from 2 hours to 1 hour to 45 minutes to 30 minutes, and back again. But also that 30 minutes lasts an hour, a 15 minute wait lasted another hour, and the 5 minute wait is now twenty minutes. Someone's IT person should be fired.

It's a clusterfuck. Some people managed to get through just to have the system crash instead of viewing the seat availability.

I went from a five minute wait to the estimated two hour wait, and I seem to be stuck here.

for Columbus Ohio run. Nice old theater. Took forever to get into the queue, and then I got a gander at the tickets. A few nose bleed balconies for $70 and ALL else $450. Wow. For this money I want to see Lin Manual Miranda and Chris Jackson. So I politely closed everything down and I will wait for a future tour.

A friend with advanced Broadway info said the balcony seats were $300.00 I'll see what's left. If the only seats that are left are with our backs to the wall, I will have to decline.

Update: I looked up the cost and my friend was wrong. The price is pretty reasonable.
