99.9% of people will try and get a parking spot closest to the business they are going to.
I've seen them wait for spots even though 50 feet away there are parking spots open.
It's just weird.

(17,006 posts)The only time I do that is if it is raining. Otherwise, I park far away. It's my feeble attempt to get some exercise.

(54,770 posts)Whether on purpose, or just oblivious to others, it takes those who have a sot forever to stow junk away, get kids settled, adjust their ill-fitting clothes so they can drive, call someone to tell them what they snagged on sale, etc.
Except in the hottest weather, Id just as soon park way in the back in the undesirable spots.

(34,136 posts)In the middle of the summer I might try to get a closer space - when it is close to 100F and 90% humidity it's worth it. Plus in Florida it can be full sunshine when you go in and raining buckets when you come out.
During the times I have been less mobile my husband drives me and drops me off at the door, then he will park and walk back to meet me. Same when we leave. Just before I had my knees replaced I got a handicap tag that lasted for six moths. I ran out just as I started my second round of rehab physical therapy, which was fine since by then I could walk a fair distance.

Trams from the outer reaches of the lots.
I thought I'd go there for the magazine racks to read my faves.
Not gonna shop. Just get a covfefe and read.
OMG! As soon as I turned off the public road I went, "Uh Oh"
Took me twenty minutes to get to where I could turn around and head for the exit.
People stopped in the middle of lanes just waiting for bags-in-hand shoppers to leave.
