I keep having the same thought each night this week, just before my head hits the pillow...

Did I move that fucking elf yet?

I figure this will be the last year for the wonder and surprise of it all, so I'll keep it moving, every night a new adventure.

and had no idea who or what it was. So when my daughter showed it to me on the shelf, I went over and picked it up and started tossing it into the air.
Poor grandson was apoplectic. I soon found out I had grievously violated the whole concept of Elf on the Shelf.
The poor boy was like 3 1/2 at the time.

Later that week the dog chewed it's face off, so we had to make a supersede trip to the store to find one just like the other.

This should be his last year also.
