They make some pretty cool products, and seem to have figured out what cats really like.

We unplug the fountain when we are going to be out of the house for a while. One cat loves the fountain so much that he has figured out how to pull the top off so he can drink from the receptacle part even when the fountain is not turned on. He prefers that to the water bowl, even when it's off.

Never bought an expensive cat contraption since with the exception of the cat condo.

And I have no idea why. She would perch on the edge of the sink and drink upside down. Sometimes sneezing or snuffing if it got in her nose.

She still does that but will also drink from my glass of water. Not interested in a bowl or cup of her own.

He pushes it all over the room, with water mess of course. It's a new thing. They say it has to do with not being able to see the water but this does not seem like a solution. Oh well, I have placed towels around the water bowl now. I think he prefers the faucet too.
