A totally new name for a dog if ever I might have another (doubtful) : Stella

Names, of all the dogs I've had before, the dogs of my life:

Females: Patty (or Paddy) - I was 4 years old, didn't know; Cocker. Molly (pseudo Llasa Apso). Mona (Mona-1, chihuahua, old, adopted from pound, ran away). Mona (Mona-2, chihuahua, still with me from puppy).

Males: Hotspur (from SHAKESPEARE; Cocker). Bandit (Llasa Apso). Chewy (son of Molly & Bandit). Sancho Panza (mini-dachsund; named for Don Quixote's sidekick). Lucky (fuzzy, bigger than yorkie, totally ADORABLE).

So, surely no more at my age. But "Stella" is grabbing me as a name.

When you want the dog to come in you could stand on your front steps and yell STELLAAAAA!

You could yell "Stellaaaa!" til you're blue in the face, and the cat will just look at you like you're from Mars.......

Otis.

He was the best cat in the world. I still miss him.

in the 8th grade at my son’s middle school. I love the name and it is certainly popular in this community.

12. Always wanted to name a dog "Laika"

after the first dog in space, 1957. "Laika" is the Russian word for "barker", as I understand it. Arthur C. Clarke wrote a story called "Dog Star" about a scientist who owned (or was owned by, depending on how you look at it) a dog named Laika, which saved his life twice by barking--the second time, after the dog had died (you have to read the story to understand that....)

But I'm liking "Stella," too, now that you bring it up!
