The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsOur supermarket was jammed this morning. I had just gone yesterday, expecting a delivery of
lobster and shellfish from a catalog. It never came so we trudged off to buy seafood from the
fish dept. (which ain't gonna be as good). They're going to send our fish for New Years with 25% off. NY day is our 33rd wedding anniversary.
We had a good excuse for going today but I wonder about all those people who have waited til the last minute. I know there are many who were just getting off work, bless them. I'm sure they work very hard and depend on stores being open for when their bosses do let them have a half day off on Christmas eve. And bless the workers at the store. They are unionized and have better wages/benefits as a result. I hope their holidays are beautiful.

(26,262 posts)My Aldi was not at all crowded (it was mid-morning) but they said they expect the crowd to boom, after churches let out.
Then, this morning I realized I need milk so I called my bro (who is coming by to help me with tonight's big dinner) and asked him to pick some up, for me. Hope I didn't send him into a nightmare!
