(37,648 posts)What a difference. That woman is an angel.
I know how she felt, when it came time to adopt him out. She couldn't do it. She loved him too much. I went through a similar thing, after rescuing a young dog. She wasn't in bad shape like this one, but when I got her spayed, and on flea and heartworm medication, and trained a bit....I didn't trust anyone else to take care of her properly. It's now 12 years later, and I still have my Rosie.
It gets me so angry that people throw away their dogs like they're trash.

(15,643 posts)We have two rescue dogs. No where near as dramatic, but richly rewarding in both cases nevertheless which just made this video that much more uplifting.

(22,063 posts)Looks like he had a whopping case of mange, along with being starved.
All 4 of our dogs were rescues. One of the Great Pyrenees, when we got him, still had sores around his neck where he had been tied out on a prong collar. He was so matted up and neglected, the Humane Society folks had to shave him down completely. It took him a very, very long time to trust us, but now he is such a treasure.

(9,651 posts)I am so glad those two found each other. It is so amazing that a dog who had been so neglected could somehow understand that this woman wanted to help him.
When he started running around and playing, and acting like a normal, happy dog, I had to put the video on pause because I couldn't see it through my tears.
I hope they have many, many happy years together.
