He and Jan Barry were recording down the hall when they got into an argument, and Dean left the studio and wandered down to where the Beach Boys were recording. There was drinking, and perhaps other merriment, during the session which accounts for the screw up on the lyrics and the playing of ash trays. Capital released it without the Beach Boys authorization.
